Day 1: Kochi to Munnar (135 km, 4 hrs approx)
Arrive at the Airport / Railway Station. Meet our representative and drive to Munnar, the place where the unfolded green carpet is waiting for you. Munnar is breathtakingly beautiful, a haven of peace and tranquillity – the idyllic tourist destination in God’s own country, situated on the Western Ghats at the height of 1600 metres (5200 feet) above sea level. It is famous for tea plantations. On the way to Munnar enjoy sightseeing like Cheeyappara waterfalls, Valara waterfalls, Karadipara View Point and Attukad Waterfalls. Enjoy sights of tea plantations. Overnight stay at the hotel / resort.
Day 2: Sightseeing within Munnar
After breakfast proceed for a sightseeing trip of Munnar. Flower show, Photo point, Honey Bee Tree, Mattupetty Dam, which offers many fascinating sights to relish. At Mattupetty Boating and Speed Boating facility are available( at your expense ). The Shola forests around Mattupetty are ideal for trekking and bird watching, with the variety of birds found there. Later visit Echo point, Shooting point, Kundala Lake, Mountain streams like Kundala, Mudrapuzha & Nallathanni, Tata Tea Museum (Close on Monday) , International Blossom (Hydel) Park, Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai), Anamudi View Point, Cardamom Plantations, Tea Plantations and several other enchanting places. Overnight stay at the hotel / resort and experience the cool mountain atmosphere.
Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady (88 km, 2 hrs 50 mins approx)
After a refreshing breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Drive through panoramic western ghat hills covered with spice plantations and occasional view of waterfalls and streams. Visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Periyar Lake, Murikkady, that provides a panoramic view of cardamom, coffee and pepper plantations. Visit Thekkady’s spice market, where you can select and bring home a piece of Kerala’s essence by acquiring some of the finest spices as cherished mementos. Later visit Kadathanadan Kalari Centre. You can watch Kathakali show and the captivating Kalaripayattu show, an ancient Indian martial art form, adding an extra layer of cultural richness to your memorable journey (evening show at your own expense). Explore the rest of the day along with nature on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel / resort.
Day 4: Thekkady to Alleppey Houseboat (140 kms, 4 hrs approx)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel / Resort and drive to Alleppey Houseboat, Trips through the backwaters cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes, and travel along narrow, shady canals where coir (coconut fibre), copra (dried coconut meat) and cashews are loaded onto boats. Along the way are small villages with mosques, churches, temples and schools you can view villagers going for their daily activities, traditional Fishing Operations and Lush Green Rice Fields from your boat. Overnight stay in the houseboat.
Day 5: Alleppey Houseboat to Kovalam (160 kms, 4 hrs 30 mins approx)
After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and drive to Kovalam. Kovalam was among the most prominent tourist spots in India during the hippy era. It still has a high status among tourists, who arrive mostly from Europe. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse. Sunbathing, swimming, special cultural programs and catamaran cruising are some of them. Enjoy sightseeing like Rock Cut Cave Temple, Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, Kovalam Light House Beach, Eve’s Beach, Samudra Beach, Hawa Beach, Vellayani Lake where you can go for a boat ride. Then return back to the beach and enjoy the serene beach sunset. Overnight stay at the hotel / resort.
Day 6: Sightseeing within Kovalam
After break fast, you will be driven to Veli Tourist Village. Veli Tourist Village is a picnic spot, where the Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea, offers boating facilities. On the way to Veli you can visit Thuppanathu Kavu Devi & Murugan Temple, Chudukad Devi Temple, Pachalloor Thookka Mudipura (Bhadrakali Temple), Hanuman Kovil, Hanuman Temple Street, Shanghumugham Beach, Veli. Then reach Veli Tourist Village, here Pedalboats and paddleboats can be hired to explore the charms of the lagoon in a leisurely manner. Overnight stay at the hotel / resort.
Day 7: Kovalam to Kanyakumari (80 kms, 2 hrs 10 mins approx)
After breakfast check out from Hotel and drive to Kanyakumari enroute visit Nagercoil, Sucheendram temple Nagercoil, Maruthuvazh Malai Kaadu (Mountain which Lord Hanuman brought here for Sanjivani Herb), St Mary Church, Arulmighu Sri Ramar Temple. Visit Gandhi Mandapam, Kanyakumari Temple, Vivekananda rock memorial (There is a ferry that operates at short intervals. In addition, admission must be paid to the rock temple. The two islands are open to visitors during the period from 08.00-17.00 clock.) and the Statue of Thiruvalloor. Enjoy Sunset from the tip of India. One can also see the moon-rise and sunset at the same time. Overnight at hotel / resort.
Day 8: Kanyakumari to Kochi (290 kms, 8 hrs approx)
After a refreshing breakfast, check out from the hotel. On the way to Kochi first visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple at Trivandrum, one of the wealthiest temples in India built in 8th century BC. Padmanabhaswamy temple is located on a stone slab and the main idol, which is about 18 feet long, can be viewed through three different doors. The head and chest are seen through the first door, while the hands can be sighted through the second door and the feet through the third door. Then proceed for Kochi and get dropped at the Airport / Railway Station and board the Flight / Train, back to home with sweet memories.
